Job Description

We have an opportunity for a ServiceNow Architect to join our talented IT Services team. The successful candidate will have fluency in ServiceNow design and development principles that enables them to work with external development partners and key stakeholders to develop enterprise business solutions for our customers that leverage ITIL processes and best practices. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the ServiceNow platform and must be able to provide strategic and tactical support to Clients, support multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Proven experience as the lead technical resource leading the development of solutions in client environments.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring, perform peer code reviews, and ensure the ServiceNow team follows software development best-practices
  • Experience with implementation of Service Now core platform functions, ITSM processes, custom or scoped app development, and at least one of the following:  Discovery/Service Mapping, SAM Pro, ITBM, ITOM, or Performance Analytics. 
  • Experience building scoped applications in ServiceNow that leverage the power of the platform while providing unique functionality to the Client
  • Create and maintain API and data integration processes between ServiceNow and other services.
  • Experience leveraging MID Servers for integration and automation
  • Prepare and present client facing and internal deliverables that are technology related
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs that represent actionable development tasks
  • Maintain production instance reliability through utilization of Change and Configuration Management processes.  Serve as the Release Manager with final technical authority to approve releases into Production
  • Monitor health, usage and overall compliance of the application
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand the Client requirements and communicate approach options as needed
  • Collaborate with System Administrators and ServiceNow Support concerning strategies and technical aspects of platform upgrades
  • Oversee major version upgrades and install patches
  • Design and develop solutions within the ServiceNow environment to include new or modifications to applications, forms, workflow, policies, actions, access control, interfaces and any other configurations required to support client processes
  • Provide advanced support for ServiceNow by troubleshooting a variety of difficult software problems, implementing bug fixes and performing root cause analysis

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or Business relateddiscipline 
  • 4+ years of hands onexperience as ServiceNow Architect 
  • Certified ServiceNow Administrator
  • Certified ServiceNow Implementation Specialist
  • Experience developing and implementing systems using Agile/Scrum methodology
  • 3 years of experience with ITIL Service Management processes. ITIL Foundations certification preferred.
  • 3 years of experience with core JavaScript development
  • 2 years of experience with web technologies such as DHTML, CSS, AJAX, XML, HTTP
  • 2 years of experience with Server sidetechnologies such as Rino, Jelly 
  • 3 years of Database technologies such as JDBC, SQL, MySQL, Oracle
  • Previous experience working with and mentoring junior ServiceNow developers
  • Previous experience configuring and customizing all aspect of ServiceNow - UI Actions, UI Policy, UI Pages, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, Catalog Client Scripts, Catalog UI Polices, Email Scripts, Scripted Web Services, Rest and SOAP web services, Roles / Groups to name a few
  • Understanding and experience related to advanced ServiceNow development including the following:
  • Browser events, best practices in JavaScript coding, style sheets, jQuery
  • The Glide Stack, Jelly scripts along with SN extensions, server-side JavaScript
  • Database relationships, views, query definition, before / after business rules
  • Must be eligible to meet government eligibility requirements
