Job Description

NetImpact Strategies has an upcoming need for a Release Manager. Release Manager will provide multifaceted support for software development lifecycle releases, encompassing responsibilities of overseeing software builds, planning, scheduling, and coordinating through various stages and environments.   

  

Responsibilities

  • Providing multifaceted support for software development lifecycle releases, encompassing the responsibilities of overseeing software builds, planning, scheduling, and coordinating through various stages and environments, while also managing changes in IT service 
  • Performing risk management, resolving issues affecting release scope and quality, and ensuring compliance with client standards and processes 
  • Leveraging expertise in ITSM processes, IT infrastructure and software development tools, to maintain communication with stakeholders, implement quality assurance, and generate release reports  
  • Ensuring teams follow a change and release management process created using industry best practices and client specific requirements 
  • Oversees the change request process, monitors submission and approval workflows and coordinates relevant meetings 
  • Document the approval, deployment, and configuration of all Infrastructure system/service Configuration Items (CI) into or that exist within the infrastructure production environment. 
  • Develop the Configuration and Change Management Procedures and the Release Management Plan. 
  • Work with client change management board and processes, to ensure change management processes are adhered to for system changes. 
  • Conducting configuration audit/verification activities to determine undocumented changes and to limit service disruptions/outages. 
  • Employing change management status accounting strategies to ensure board members, system owners and stakeholders are apprised of anticipated/ongoing/completed deployment/transition activities within the enterprise. 
  • Conducting Change Ticket business reviews to standardize and strengthen change ticket content used by board members to determine risk acceptance. Assist with impact and rootcause analysis and report findings, when necessary.  
  • Balancing timely software releases with the risk of introducing bugs, managing complex dependencies, and efficiently handling changes in IT services  

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • 4+ year of experience with Configuration Management and/or Release Management of an IT project
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, ITIL V4 Foundations
  • Proficient using ticketing systems, such as ServiceNow or JIRA
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.
  • Solid understanding of software development Lifecyle and Agile frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

 

Preferred


ITIL Practitioner Certification
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Service Management (CIS-ITSM)

Federal Consulting Industry Experience Preferred
