Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Network Administrator - Level II to provide comprehensive support for our network and desktop infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure the optimal performance and security of our LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, as well as maintain and troubleshoot desktop systems. This role requires proficiency in identity management, incident management, and continuous improvement to uphold high standards of service.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive maintenance and support for Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and wireless LANs.
  • Ensure network connectivity and performance at all supported sites.
  • Support desktop infrastructure, including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software.
  • Manage and maintain desktop operating systems and applications.
  • Implement and maintain identity management systems, ensuring secure and efficient user authentication and authorization processes.
  • Support the provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts and access rights.
  • Utilize the Government's incident management system (currently MHS ServiceNow) to log, track, and resolve network and desktop-related incidents.
  • Escalate issues as necessary and ensure timely resolution of incidents to minimize downtime.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network and desktop hardware and software to meet organizational needs and standards.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Implement security measures to protect network and desktop systems from threats.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and ensure compliance with agency policies and standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, desktop setups, changes, and incidents.
  • Prepare and submit reports on network and desktop performance, issues, and resolutions.
  • Work collaboratively with other IT teams to ensure seamless support and integration of network and desktop systems.
  • Communicate effectively with users, providing updates and addressing any concerns regarding network and desktop services.
  • Provide training and support to users on network and desktop-related topics.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures to assist users and IT staff.
  • Stay updated with the latest network and desktop technologies and best practices.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the performance and reliability of network and desktop systems.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalency.
  • One or more of the following (IAT II)
    • CCNA-Security
    • CySA+ **
    • GICSP
    • GSEC
    • Security+ CE
    • CND
    • SSCP
  • CE: Associate (professional preferred) level certificate for supported technology. 
  • Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
  • Secret Clearance.

Preferred

  • Federal Consulting Industry Experience Preferred
