Application Developer Junior_ESRI

The role of an Application Developer involves assisting in the development and support of software applications. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will participate in coding, testing, and debugging activities. This role focuses on learning and applying best practices in software development, contributing to the design and implementation of application features, and ensuring that deliverables align with project goals and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and maintenance of GIS applications using ESRI technologies.
• Help manage and analyze spatial data to support GIS applications.
• Support the integration of interactive maps and spatial analysis tools into applications.
• Assist in optimizing the performance of GIS applications.
• Participate in the testing and troubleshooting of GIS applications.
• Collaborate with GIS analysts and other stakeholders to gather requirements and develop solutions.
• Help maintain documentation of GIS application development processes and spatial data management practices.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to develop product features and capabilities to deliver business value.
• Responsible for software engineering using custom development frameworks and languages, geospatial software products (including but not limited to ESRI and Precision Ag), and AWS native technologies.
• Responsible for supporting software operations and maintenance including addressing software patches, errors, bugs, and vulnerabilities
• Ensures solution is developed to security and quality standards, as well as configured for performance, scalability, upgradability, and re-usability.
• Assist with developing test cases to ensure software meets communicated requirement.
• Assists with turning requirements into user stories with clear definition of done.
• Assist with estimating level of effort

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, GIS, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in developing GIS applications using ESRI technologies.
• Basic knowledge of GIS concepts, spatial data management, and ESRI software.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and SQL for GIS development.
• Good analytical skills to manage and analyze spatial data effectively.
• Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

• Certifications: ESRI Associate Certifications, AWS Software Developer, ISC2 Secure Software Lifecycle Professional, ICP, SAFe SA

• Experience with ESRI, Precision Ag, Agile Software Development, DevSecOps, BizDevOps, CI/CD Pipelines, SoapUI, Azure Dev Ops, Chrome/Edge/MS Office, Selenium, SonarQube

Preferred

• Relevant ESRI certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Federal Consulting Industry Experience Preferred
