Job Description

The role of a Solutions Architect involves designing and implementing technical solutions that address business challenges. The Solution Architect will drive, develop, maintain, and coordinate application and solution architecture strategy.  They will contribute to new standards for user experience, modern design, and forward thinking toward next generation software solutions. Working under the guidance of senior architects, you will analyze requirements, design system architectures, and integrate components to meet project objectives. This role focuses on understanding client needs, evaluating technologies, and recommending solutions that enhance system performance and scalability.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive IT solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define the solution architecture.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to meet project needs.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight during the implementation of solutions.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with industry standards.
  • Plan/executes application releases through Production/Pre-production.
  • Leads solution and technical design efforts to enable project enhancements.
  • Conducts research and troubleshoots complex technical challenges.
  • Performs hands-on advanced technical development work as required.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of the solution architecture, including system diagrams and technical specifications.
  • Conduct reviews and assessments of existing systems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to inform solution design.
  • Collaborates with client and external stakeholders to guide the technical direction of the software delivery teams.
  • Leads solution and technical design efforts to enable enhancements.
  • Conducts research and troubleshoots complex technical challenges.
  • Assists with estimating level of effort for completing requested features and capabilities.
  • Performs hands-on advanced technical development work as required.
  • Guides Software Delivery Best Practices (Agile, UX, DevSecOps, CI/CD, TDD, etc.)
  • Provides oversight and assists with development of technical documentation in each sprint.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of solution architecture frameworks and best practices.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing complex IT solutions.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and enterprise software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications: TOGAF, AWS/Azure Solution Architect Certified, Power Platform Fundamentals, ESRI Foundation, ICP, SAFe SA

  • Experience With: Agile Software Development, Architecture (Application, Solution, Infrastructure, Business, Cloud, Security), Cloud Technologies - IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Geospatial Technologies, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, DevSecOps, BizDevOps, CI/CD Pipelines, AWS Tools & Services, GitHub, Azure Dev Ops, Chrome/Edge/MS Office, SoapUI, Selenium, SonarQube

Preferred

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
