AI Developer

NetImpact Strategies is  seeking an innovative AI Developer, involved in the development and integration of AI technologies, including Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI (GenAI), and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), into the IT infrastructure of a Federal Healthcare Agency. The AI Developer will be instrumental in implementing cutting-edge solutions that support the institute's strategic initiatives in research and administrative workflows. 

This role is onsite in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain AI-driven applications and solutions tailored to meet business needs. 

• Develop algorithms, create models, and integrate AI features into existing systems, focusing on areas such as document compliance, synthetic data creation, grants management, and IT service management. 

• Leverage agency specific enterprise AI/GenAI offerings and adapt them to specific use cases. 

• Conduct requirements gathering, project planning, scoping, and resource management for AI initiatives. 

• Develop IT business cases with detailed recommendations for proposed AI projects and initiatives. 

• Coordinate with PM, Help Desk Manager, and the COR to ensure alignment and integration of AI projects within the IT framework. 

• Create and deliver training materials, including user manuals and video tutorials, to facilitate the adoption of new AI technologies by staff. 

• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for AI applications implemented within the institute.
• Work closely with data scientists on data science and bioinformatics initiatives, providing expertise in Python, R, data analysis, visualization, predictive modeling, and machine learning. 

• Support clinical and research data management projects, ensuring effective use of databases like MS SQL, MySQL, and FileMaker Pro. 

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field; Master’s preferred. 

• Proficiency in AI technologies, including NLP, ML, GenAI, and RPA. 

• Strong experience with Python, R, and other relevant data science tools.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and integrate AI solutions within complex IT infrastructures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of implementing technology solutions that align with business objectives.
