Job Description

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust DevOps pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Puppet, and SonarQube. This role will focus on supporting mission-critical web applications built with .NET Framework, .NET Core, Java, and Node.js technologies. The ideal candidate has extensive experience across the software delivery lifecycle, including automated testing, artifact packaging, infrastructure as code, and secure, scalable deployment.

This position requires a self-starter who can own delivery pipelines from source control to production, contributing to NetImpact’s commitment to quality, security, and innovation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines leveraging Jenkins, SonarQube, and Git repositories for diverse technology stacks (.NET, Java, Node.js).
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and manage system configurations using Puppet across multiple environments.
  • Implement static code analysis, unit testing, and security scans as part of the CI process.
  • Maintain artifact repositories and ensure consistent packaging and deployment practices across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, system administrators, security, and quality assurance teams to integrate DevSecOps best practices into the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Provide operational support for production and pre-production environments as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and the adoption of industry-leading DevOps methodologies within NetImpact project teams.

  • Deployment: Apache Tomcat, WildFly, OpenShift/Kubernetes

Node.js Applications

  • Unit Testing: Mocha, Jest
  • Build Tool: npm, webpack
  • Packaging: npm modules, Docker images
  • Deployment: NGINX, PM2, Kubernetes, Azure App Services

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure automation roles
  • Strong experience with Jenkins, Terraform, Puppet, and CI/CD design principles
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python)
  • Hands-on experience deploying and supporting .NET, Java, and Node.js applications
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps delivery models within federal IT environments
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and a strong understanding of secure deployment practices
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current DoD or Federal Government clearance (e.g., Public Trust, Secret)
  • Relevant certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer, Terraform Associate
  • Experience working with FedRAMP-compliant environments and security frameworks like NIST 800-53
  • Previous Federal Consulting Experience
