Django Web Application Developer
Location: 100% onsite – Bethesda, MD
Clearance: US Citizenship

 

Overview:


NetImpact Strategies is seeking a Django Web Application Developer to modernize and maintain federal health-focused web applications. This role requires full-stack Python/Django development expertise with strong UI/UX, cloud migration, and workflow automation skills, supporting mission-critical digital platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack Django/Python applications for health data, outreach, and classification programs.
  • Migrate legacy systems (e.g., OERS, DigitalQA) to secure, scalable cloud-based platforms.
  • Modernize UI/UX using Bootstrap, USWDS, and ensure Section 508 compliance for public-facing applications.
  • Support data analytics and reporting using APIs, Python, IBM Cognos, Tableau, and Google Analytics.
  • Automate workflows using Django FSM and integrate with internal/external content systems.
  • Maintain and optimize multimedia content delivery, including replacing legacy media players with VideoJS.
  • Develop APIs and support DevOps pipelines to enhance application interoperability and deployment efficiency.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications


Strong hands-on experience with Python/Django, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, PostgreSQL, and REST APIs.

Proficiency with modern UI frameworks (Bootstrap, USWDS) and tools (Sketch, InVision, CodeKit).

Experience with data visualization platforms (Tableau, IBM Cognos) and Google Analytics.

Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS EC2, Lambdas), DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to document and present technical workflows clearly.
